Mount Barker Ranks as First Home Buyer Hotspot in SA

Despite interest rate rises and a slowing housing market, Mount Barker remains a first home buyer hotspot in SA…

National Australia Bank (NAB) data lists Mount Barker behind Morphett Vale and Woodcroft which tied for first place, and Hallett Cove and O’Halloran Hill which tied for second place.

According to the Courier – a NAB spokesperson has revealed that first home buyers made up a staggering one in five purchasers in Mount Barker in the last six months of 2022.

So why is Mount Barker such a great destination for first home buyers? NAB Executive Andy Kerr said “Mount Barker is a gem in the Adelaide Hills, providing easy access to growing amenities and fresh air.”

Coralie – a first homebuyer at Clover Park said that “I never knew I’d be so excited to stand on a slab of concrete… You’re not going to get anywhere if you don’t take the first step. I’d been wanting to do this for years, but as soon as I took the first step (asking about land, talking to a broker etc) everything got underway, and now I’m waiting to move into my first home.”
